Around 50 representatives from across Europe gathered on the Swedish island of Gotland in June for the European Council of Practical Nurses (EPN) General Council. With preparedness as the main theme, participants shared experiences from different countries and discussed the importance of skilled professionals, strong public services and cooperation in times of crisis.

At WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, young healthcare professionals from across the world competed in Health and Social Care, demonstrating their skills in clinical care, communication and patient safety. Among them was 21-year-old Norwegian practical nurse Henrik Solberg Bølgenhaugen, who returned home with a bronze medal.
